The Tom Brady Patriots wouldn’t have won if it wasn’t for a running back. But this happens not only with the Lombardi Trophy.
This is to say that running backs do add a lot of value to the game and chance of winning. And the Patriots are not the only team that knows this.

But who is this specific running back that changed the game for the Patriots? While there were many exceptional running backs, this one had it all.

In this article, we count three of the best running back Tom Brady ever had.

LeGarrette Blount

Third, we have LeGarrette Blount. He spent a total of 10 years playing in the NFL. But he had four years spent playing with the Patriots. From 2013 to 2016, Blount appeared in 49 games. And he didn’t only appear but made some of those games memorable for fans.

He also rushed the ball 677 times, which is admirable. Then he had a total of 2,917 yards rushing and 34 touchdown scores. On average, he had 144 downs and 4.3 rushing yards in every attempt he made. So, that’s 59.9 yards for every game.

And within those four years, he appeared in a total of eight playoff games. But in all his time in the NFL, he had 12 appearances. He had the ball 111 total times, racked up yards 470 times, and had an average of 43.4 yards per game.

Kevin Faulk

We’re getting closer and closer. The second place goes to Kevin Faulk. For his entire career in the NFL, he was with the Patriots running backs. So, that’s a total of 13 years!

While there, he rushed the ball 864 times, picked up 3,607 yards, and scored 16 touchdowns. He also had a 4.2 rush yards average. That’s already exceptional!

We also consider Faulk to have the highest number of playoff appearances. He had a total of 19 playoff games. And he had the ball 88 times, racked up 425 yards, and had an average of 22.4 yards.

From 2004 to 2006, he played 43 games. And he had a total of rushing the ball 753 times. Not only that, but he also had a total of 3,180 yards and 37 touchdown scores. That makes him the most powerful and forceful beast in the field.

But with all those scores, he also played in eight playoff games with the Patriots. Yes, in only three years! During those times, he had the ball 120 times. He also racked up 508 yards and notched an average of 63.5 yards.

So we regard him as the best running back Tom Brady ever had!
