The Revolution won a game! It had to happen eventually. For Caleb Porter, it couldn’t have come at a better time – seeing as he made some promises. Caleb Porter ended the interview by saying, “We’re going to get a win Saturday. I promise that.”#NERevs pic.twitter.com/kEDyipppAq — Seth (@SethMan31) April 4, 2024 A win at home against a middle-of-the-pack Charlotte team …
It’s that time of year again. When Dunkin’ runs out of their pumpkin spice coffee and replaces it with (the far inferior) peppermint mocha. You know…that special time of year when car companies try to convince you to put a large red bow on the $50,000 truck you didn’t tell your spouse you were buying. Yup, it’s the holiday season. …
The sky fell last week after the Revolution suffered a 4-2 penalty shootout loss to the New York Red Bulls. Fortunately, as reactionary fanbases often do, we hammered that sky back in place just in time for the Revolution to hammer Atletico San Luis 5-1 mere days later. Given recent events, I feel totally confident in saying that the Revs …
The Revolution started the season hot. Through their first 11 matches, they held a record of 7 wins, 3 draws, and just 1 loss. That’s a 2.18ppg pace, slightly higher than the 2.15ppg pace New England set the points record in 2021. Since week 11, however, things have not gone quite as well. A loss against USL’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds in …
An expression in sports starts to pop up in MLS circles in the late spring. “You’re as good as your record says you are.” With 10 weeks’ worth of MLS data, you’re going to start hearing it more and more. Essentially the concept is; if you’re winning games, it doesn’t matter how poor you look. Likewise, if you’re losing games …
We made it, Revs Nation! The 2023 season is officially upon us. New England began their campaign, as they so often have, on the road. This time it was in front of 69,000 people in Charlotte, North Carolina. Charlotte FC is MLS’s second most recent addition. Given that, the crowd and atmosphere at this game should make the league, and …
On Saturday, the Revs mostly fumbled their way through a 2-1 victory at Orlando City SC in their final preseason tune-up. It was a tale of 2 halves for New England. The first half was marked by poor passing accuracy, bad giveaways and subsequent heroics from Djordje Petrovic. He saved everything thrown his way, with the exception of an Ivan …
The offseason is done and dusted, and players have reported to preseason camp. Soon they’ll travel south to Florida for some tune-up matches ahead of the start of the 2023 season. That would be exciting if they weren’t almost all going to be CLOSED DOOR friendlies, unavailable for public viewing. Another wintry mix today in Foxborough, where the #NERevs enter …
Happy new year, Revolution faithful! Yesterday we flipped the calendar to January 2023, which brings us ever closer to the beginning of the MLS season on February 25th. This year will bring a lot of new wrinkles to your MLS and Revolution media consumption. For starters, all league matches will be broadcast via Apple TV, with no local OTA coverage. …
A few weeks ago I wrote a piece that tried to nail down where the Revolution most needed reinforcements for the 2023 season. In short? Kind of everywhere. With particular emphasis on the spine of the team. Striker, central midfield, and centerback all, to varying degrees, need some shoring up before the new year. Centerback may have just vaulted to …
